The Main Gallery & Studio is closed, but I'm using this as my personal website, as is my prerogative as former Main Gallery owner.

I've been drawing for my entire life, and painting for many years. I work in oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and colored pencil. I have work hanging in many private and public locations in the Dubuque, Denver and Marin County, California areas and as far away as Poland.

In all of my paintings, I am concerned with color, composition, and light, and the emotions evoked by all of those elements together. Poetry and music often generate ideas for me, especially the poetry of Mary Oliver and Leonard Cohen. Classical music of all types helps my brush move in the right directions while painting.

I'll soon begin working on paintings for an exhibit in 2014 at the Dubuque Museum of Art. I have really challenged myself with realistic and abstract paintings that refer to poetry and to each other.
